Weekends: why are they so much more difficult?

Difficult in staying on track. I can kill it all week long, but then I get to the weekend and it all goes out this window. This weekend was a prime example of that. Friday, had a burger which lead to more bad choices for the rest of the day. Saturday, ate well and worked out during the day, had a couple drinks. Sunday, skipped lunch accidentally and overate at dinner with my family. We had reubens, potatoes, soup, bread, and cherry strudle with ice cream. You better believe I enjoyed all of it.

So, this is my plan for this week: From today until Sunday I will stick to my diet plan. I will workout tonight, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings. I will not have any alcohol. I will not have any little cheat bites (especially that peanut butter.) And I will drink plenty of water and green tea.

Are weekends harder for you guys? I know a lot of people see the weekends as "time off" but I need to rethink the time off feel of weekends as far as my weight loss journey goes. I don't want to work hard all week and have that effort be wasted on the weekends with bad food choices.

Spring break is a around the corner! I just have to finish one project, present another, and mount another and get that ready for critique. Once I get to Tuesday night, I will be home free for break! It's going to be really nice to have a break from classes and homework. I'm going to set a goal of getting to the gym every day that week and give myself a kick in the butt to get moving more.

UPDATE:
Oofta! (I'm a Minnesotan!) What a productive day! I called into work to see if I was needed today and my manager said I could take the day off. I'm so glad I did! I got a ton of stuff on my to do list done! I finished 2 projects, got more work done on a third (which is done tomorrow), worked out for an hour, showered, and cooked some DELICIOUS food. I made turkey burgers, put some blue cheese crumbles on top, paired it with an english muffin mini pizza, and a big helping of mixed veggies. Yeah, it was a smorgasbord of food, all for only 450 calories. Not bad for dinner! I still have an apple, a tangelo, a Vitatop and half a tablespoon of peanut butter left in my day's menu plan, but I am FULL. I am feeling great and proud of my productive day and I am tired. I've got a magazine and The Bachelor on TV. Time to relax! I've earned it!

  1. Weekends are SO hard for me. I just blogged about it this Sunday- I call it my Sunday Morning food hangover. My biggest issue is that I don't drink enough water when I'm not at work.
